Bahman Goshayeshi
Chemical recycling of plastic waste by reactor and catalyst engineering

Bahman Goshayeshi is an early stage researcher for C-PlaNeT, working on ESR 10 project “Chemical recycling of plastic waste by catalyst and reactor engineering”, at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT), at the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering, in Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium). The goal of his research is to improve valuable compounds (e.g., light olefins) production through catalytic pyrolysis of plastic waste via designing/using novel catalysts and reactor technologies, such as vortex reactors.

Bahman obtained his bachelor’s degree from Sahand University of Technology (Tabriz, Iran) in Chemical Engineering (gas industry), with a thesis topic on new methods for preventing the formation of gas hydrates inside gas pipelines. He holds a master’s degree in process control and simulation from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran). Although during his master’s studies he studied mostly process control, he chose a topic in process design and simulation for his master’ thesis where he focused on dynamic modelling and simulation of integrated pre-combustion CO2 capture based on SEWGS technology in natural gas combined cycle power plants.

Bahman in his free time tends to play video games mostly RTS genre. He also enjoys playing and listening to music. After some time playing setar (Persian traditional music) out of his keen interest in electrical music, recently, he started to play synthesizers.

He also loves to read about geopolitics and history.
