Film blowing of contaminated recycled pol

Amir Bashirgonbadi is an early stage researcher for C-PlaNeT, working on ESR 11 project “macromolecular approach to recyclability of polyethylene-based blown films”, at the Center for Polymer and Material Technologies (CPMT), at the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering, in University of Ghent. Amir studies the processability and performance of mixed polyethylenes in film blowing process. His research objective is the quantification and improvement of the Recycling Quality for plastic films.

Amir obtained his bachelor’s degree from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran, Iran) in Materials Engineering, with a thesis topic on the influences of the transesterification reaction on the mechanical properties of the melt blended PBT-PET systems. He holds also a master’s degree in Materials Engineering, from KU Leuven (Belgium), where he investigated the mechanical properties of hierarchically reinforced polymer composites.

In his free time, Amir enjoys reading, hiking, and travelling.
